Port Elizabeth is home to the Eastern Province Cricket Board and boasts the internationally recognized St George's Park Cricket Oval. The recently-built Duckpond in St George's Park, which was a recipient of the Award of Excellence from the Institute of South African Architects, has a seating capacity of 22 000 spectators. Sahara Oval St George's is not only a first class cricket facility that was home to the 2003 ICC Cricket World Cup Semi-Final, but it also has versatile venues for hire.
