African Penguin Awareness Day Waddle
African Penguin Awareness Day is on 7 October and we will be celebrating it with a 3km awareness waddle from SANCCOB PE to Something Good. Dress up and make posters in support of our handsomely suited friends! Prizes will be up for grabs for these two categories, as well as other spot prizes on the day!
This special day is dedicated to raising worldwide awareness about the plight of the endangered African penguin, the only penguin endemic to the African continent.
General admission is R30 for adults, R20 for children under the age of 12 and pensioners and children under 5, gain free entry. Funds raised at the Awareness Waddle will contribute to SANCCOB’s continued work to rehabilitate and release seabirds.
Parking will be available at Something Good. Shuttles will be running between Something Good and SANCCOB PE-in the Cape Recife Nature Reserve- for registration and coffee, from 08h00 with the last shuttle departing Something Good at 10h15. You may alternatively meet us at SANCCOB PE center. Registration and coffee will take place between 08h30 and 10h30 .
