To carry this heritage on, Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism strives to eradicate plastic pollution using the 5R Methodology of waste awareness, prevention and management. We are creating a new normal for our municipality, visitors, local establishments and residents.

The NMBT proudly presents the We R in NMB community. Which is a call for everyone to do their bit in their capacity and help us keep our municipality clean. This how you can be part of it

What can I do as a tourist?

What can I do as a resident?

The We R in NMB community is a universal call and applies to our residents too. Locals make a big part of that, this is why we must extend our Friendly City reputation from all those who visit us to our own neighbourhoods. Lead by example and do these simple steps daily:

1. Rethink your plastic use, carry Tupperware and reusable cups

2. Refuse plastic straws

3. Reduce plastic bottles, use taps or filling stations for water

4. Reuse shopping bags
