Originally masterminded by David Kramer in 1995, The Mince Drag Show quickly became a yearly institution, travelled extensively locally and as far afield as Egypt and Budapest abroad, and even morphed into an Afrikaans version (Fop JouHier, Dos JouDaar) for the Klein Karoo National Arts Festival in 2011.

Mince, a term used to characterize the tight, feminine wiggle when you walk, also describes their iconic shows which have become somewhat of an institution in the mother city’s Dock Road Theatre and On Broadway cabaret venue over the years.

Mince – The Return is produced with dollops of precise cosmetics, tricks with props, audience interactions, hilarious spoofs on popular culture and the singers they parody…and plenty of subtexts to exploit any innuendo in the songs they send up.
