Candice Johnstone Dance Academy – I Love to Dance
Acclaimed choreographer Candice Johnstone and her ballet and contemporary studio will be presenting I love to Dance at the Port Elizabeth Opera House on 10 and 11 June.
Johnstone has successfully staged shows since 2005 and Port Elizabeth audiences have come to expect quality productions from the studio including, Dancers et Haute Couture, I Have a Dream and Queen of Dance.
“The Dance Academy, although a younger group of dancers, have been working tirelessly to meet my expectations and I’m exceptionally proud of them,” said Johnstone. She added that the show is fresh, vibrant and the material is completely new.
Experience the journey of dance and musical theatre in an extraordinary showcase of contemporary, ballet and the sassy jazz style that Johnstone is renowned for with a few surprises up her sleeve.
I Love to Dance features an array of music including jazz, classical, modern, African and big band to further entertain audiences of all ages. “As a studio we intend to enthrall and draw people into the world of theatre and dance through exhilarating music, distinct costumes and professional lighting, said Johnstone.”
Candice Johnstone is well known for her memorable big scale local productions such as The King and I, Evita, Chicago, Cabaret, Fiddler on the Roof, Footloose, Guys & Dolls, High School Musical and Oklahoma and has won a number of awards for her outstanding contribution.
