South Africa has seen a rapid increase in the prevalence of diabetes, where it has almost tripled from 4.5% in 2010 to 12.7% in 2019.

It was estimated that of the 4.58 million people between 20 and 79 years old with diabetes in South Africa in 2019, 52.4% were undiagnosed.

Over 200 deaths PER DAY are related to Diabetes in South Africa.
