• The Hike is organised and lead by Merrell Ambassador and Trailblazer Jenni Gault. 

• Experienced Hiker with multi summits including Mt Kilimanjaro, Everest Base Camp and Mt Kala Patthar.

• The Hike is supported and sponsored by Merrell, Jenni Gault International Jewellery Design, #StepSafe, Bagel Deli, Atlas Security and ECMR.

•  7:00 - 8:00 AM – Registration
•  8:00 AM – Welcome & Photos
•  8:15 AM – Hike Starts
•  TBC – Water/Snack Break at Donkin
•  TBC – Lucky Draws & Closing
•  Post-Event – Retrieve Route Markers

 

ABOUT YOUR ROUTE

The Urban Hike, led by Jenni Gault, will start at Lincoln's Coffee Shop and Shagg Hair, guiding participants through some of Port Elizabeth's most iconic landmarks. The route follows Lower Valley Road into the heart of the city, passing sites like Tramways, Wozani Arts and Craft, and Fort Frederick.

We'll explore historical gems such as the High Court, The Athenaeum, and 7 Castle Hill, with a scenic break at the Donkin Memorial. After taking in the views, we'll descend towards St Mary’s Church and the Old Library, continuing along Baakens Street past landmarks like City Hall, Feather Market Hall, and the Post Office.

The final stretch leads us across Produce Street, looping back over the bridge behind Tramways, and returning to the starting point. Throughout the hike, Jenni will guide the pace, with planned stops for photos, water breaks, and moments to soak in the city’s rich heritage.

 

WHAT TO BRING/WEAR (just a suggestion):

• Hat

• Sunglasses 

• Comfortable hiking/walking/running shoes

• Comfortable clothing

• A spare pair of socks

• A sweatshirt

• A towel

• Sunscreen 

• Water

• A snack for halfway

• A Whistle / Mace etc

• A small light backpack for the above

 

Ts & Cs

Safety, security, and no judgement are vital, therefore please read the following:

• Kindness is paramount! Rudeness will NOT be tolerated. Right of admission is reserved.
• Online entries will receive a free Merrell Peak, and we will also have entry options available on the day of the event.
• While all care and attention have been taken, you are responsible for yourself and agree that:
  The owners, organisers, sponsors, and supporters (known as the team) of the Merrell Urban Hike 2025 are not responsible for any incident, accident, injury, damage to, or loss of property before, during, or after any event organised by Jenni Gault.
• You agree that you are physically fit enough to complete the route in the given time. The team is not responsible for your medical conditions. It is always recommended to consult your physician before starting any exercise event.
  Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
• Dogs are welcome. You MUST clean up after your dog. Dogs must be on a SHORT leash at all times. Please be mindful of other hikers and the public.
