So chef! Gourmet French cuisine week in PE

So Chef! brings French know-how with South African produce and celebrates food with a diverse audience!

So Chef! aims to show the diversity of French cuisine, bringing French know-how, adding local produce, and to celebrate food with a diverse audience.

Programme of the week: 

Tuesday the 18th : 
Philosophy café around the topic Delightful Dishes: Food as Aesthetic Experience at the Alliance Française, starting at 18h30. Guest speaker: Karen Du Plessis and Marius Crous. 

Wednesday the 19th :
wine comparative tasting between French and South African wines with explanation. Starting at 18h30. R100 pp, including wine and light snack. 

Thursday the 20th: 
movie screening and quiz. Haute Cuisine, Les saveurs du Palais with quiz during the screening ! People can stand a chance to win prices such as two places for the gastronimic dinner and pastry demonstration. Screening at Roof Garden Bar, doors open at 18h, movies starts at 18h30. In French with English subtitles. R30/R50

Friday the 21st:
o Workshop for the PE college students. Making a traditional recipe from Alsace region with Cyril Bonnard with one group. Chocolat work with Marie Wucher with an other group. 
o Workshop for children around fruits and cake pop at St Georges primary school. 

Saturday the 22nd: 
o 14h/16h: Pastry workshop around choux pastry opens to public by booking only. At the Alliance. R110 pp
o 19h: Six hands dinner at Fairview Race Course, Greenbushes. R250 / R270 including three courses diner and one welcome drink. Cash bar available. Booking essential by the 14th of October.
