THE HISTORICAL SOCIETY OF PORT ELIZABETH OUTING - TRAMWAYS BUILDING

FRIDAY 21 AUGUST AT 13H45 FOR 14H00 – VISIT TO TRAMWAYS BUILDING, VALLEY ROAD (CNR BAAKENS STREET)

This building was opened in June 1897 as the power station and car house of the PE Electric Tramway Company; after being used for various purposes and then lying abandoned for some years, it is being restored by the Mandela Bay Development Agency to house their offices and exhibition space. MBDA’s Planning and Development Manager, Ms Dorelle Sapere, will be our guide.
