The Route 67 Amazing Race

As part of World Tourism Day Celebrations on 27 September we invite you to enter the Route 67 Amazing Race.
Intentions for this event
The concept is aimed at creating awareness about this new popular cultural route, promote youth tourism, it is a stunning option that allows youth to see some of the best tourism attractions that are on their doorstep. It is also an initiation to collect more sanitary towels to improve or alleviate poverty for the disadvantaged in Nelson Mandela Bay.
Logistics
We are looking at getting between 50 of entries. Target are Officials, Tourism Industry players and the public. Anyone who wishes to enter the Route 67 Amazing race, for their admission a person needs to "buy" Sanitary Towels and Feminine Wipes to the value of R150 per entry, which they will exchange it for a race entrance ticket. A person will have to bring the donation and receipt to one of our VIC’s in return for a race ticket. The Race
The group of 50 entries will be split into 10 teams, 5 people per team and the starting point is the Donkin. The teams will be briefed and each team will be provided with colour t-shirts, Route 67 maps and water.
This event will start at 10h00 am and end between 12h00 o’clock and 13h00 pm. Each team will receive a starting puzzle which once solved will allow the team to begin the race and follow the course or clues for their next destination.
Prizes
The first team arrives to the final destination point or the team collected the most art pieces of the route 67 will be declared as the winning team and awarded with a prize.
