The streets of Port Elizabeth will soon be buzzing when kart racing comes to takeover the city, and who knows what might follow thereafter.

 

In two months time the Brainchild of Christine Moss, 25 from the well-known Moss Racing family, will come to life in the Energy Corse racing series. Moss hopes this will be the first step towards turning the bay into the  “Monaco of Africa”.

 

Energy Corse is the newest name to appear on the South African motorsport horizon and it promises to be one that will be in the limelight for many years to come as an exciting project becomes apparent over the next few months.

 

Well known karting promoter Christine Moss, daughter of Terry Moss, one of South Africa’s most capped drivers, is the brain behind the project, which will see motorsport at the hub of a wide range of projects.

 

Energy Corse Africa is part of a bold new program aimed at developing motorsport In Southern Africa as an international industry, one which lends itself to developing the Eastern Cape and Nelson Mandela Bay.

 

“I have a vision of the bay doing for South Africa, the same as Monaco has done for Europe, but with the benefit leading edge technology added to the glitz and glamour. “This ‘Techno Monaco of Africa’ has the potential set to benefit the nation and continent as a whole in a way that has never been explored in the past,” she explained.

 

The first batch of Energy Corse karts has landed in South Africa and is set to launch on the Weekend of the Port Elizabeth Karting National on the 22nd of March 2014 at the Kart Circuit in Victoria drive, Walmer.

 

Energy is not just another chassis brand, it is something special, it is about a lifestyle and bringing people together, empowering people to be all they can be, over the course of 2014 an array of events will be launching, Energy Corse Africa series on track to launch in the next two months,

 

The Energy Corse series has been created to accommodate your corporates and business’s as well as super singles, bringing together an opportunity for entrepreneurs and like minded business individuals to network, accommodate, entertain or reward clients and staff at a International Formula 1 quality rating, while ensuring this is unique to their brand and sector.

 

The chassis to be used is energy Corse, the energy brand has been chosen for is quality, consistency, performance, longevity and purpose to fulfill the requirements of an equal playing field, ensuring the chassis output of performance is equal to its energy competitors.

Energy Corse Africas’ Supa Gas series creates an opportunity to create 45 small businesses within the Eastern Cape and 405 small businesses Nationally, thus developing 810 unemployed youth, equipping them with the skills and ability to operate basic mechanics.

 

Energy has setup a process which has successfully been tested and tried in South Africa with Reginald Piyoos, whom dropped out of school at 14 and entered into the Engen Xtreme Terry Moss Racing Karting development program, which sees him today as a fully equipped as a

all the above skill and ability he has, is with a Standard 7 and undergoing development within the Engen Xtreme- Terry Moss Racing program.

 

Energy Corse aims to equip the passionate and driven youth within your lower lsm areas with the education and skills they are otherwise deprived of in the government system. The top Mechanics, will be sent overseas to further their development and return home to teach their peers.

The purchase of a franchise team is a contributing factor enabling the development of the youth within Nelson Mandela Bay, as well is a stepping stone in the bigger picture of Developing Nelson Mandela Bay as the “Monaco of Africa”, this franchise allows the company sole rights, without competition within their business sector to run a team in the Energy Corse Africa “SUPA Gas series.

Moss’s project has been kept specific to Nelson Mandela Bay, as this is where her heart is and she is passionate about, despite the interest and from other provinces, she feels Nelson Mandela Bay needs an Industry to sustain it and attract foreign investment. The SA Motorsport Industry Development initiative has gone to stakeholders in the tourism, government and sport sectors to try and realize her aim. She has reached out to the big names like Princess of Monaco, the Sheik of Dubai, Sir Richard Branson and a handful of influential South Africans. “ Two years ago, People laughed and said it was impossible, but today they are supporting me and apart of it “she admitted, at the end of the day the bigger project as a industry, is an opportunity for us to develop Nelson Mandela Bay and contribute towards the South African economy, job creation and exchange rate.

 

Moss told the weekend post this week she registered the patent for the slogan “ Monaco of Africa” Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism agency CEO Mandlakazi Skefile Said her and her team feel privileged to be apart of the bigger picture developing Nelson Mandela Bay as the Monaco of Africa.” The excitement was echoed by municipal assistant director for events Seki Mandaba, " The city has been positioning itself as a preferred venue for events. Staging the project and Racing series will take this strategy even further.

 

Moss is working towards the promotion of motorsport in the bay to inject new life into the industry and wants the sport to be accessible to previously disadvantaged youth. She has researched the potential of a sustainable industry that, references the project at hand and has the potential to create up to 400 000 down the line jobs and possibly generate an additional R60 Billion in revenue for the country.

 

However the Bigger Project at hand, developing Nelson Mandela Bay as the “Monaco of Africa” is a 5 year plan, with the first stage rolling out with the Energy Corse Kart on track in the next two weeks at the Round 1 of the National Karting series in Port Elizabeth, which will be taking place at the Kart circuit in Victoria drive Walmer. There after once the franchises are sold, the Energy Corse series will Launch in Port Elizabeth and Roll out Nationally given the current interest. However the base of the project is Nelson Mandela Bay and will continue to Launch here and promote the city.
