Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality brings you Libhongolethu!
Libhongolethu, meaning Our Pride, is an integrated public transport system that is safe, affordable and efficient. This transport system brings us closer to becoming a world-class city that will empower and benefit the residents and commuters of the Bay.
Libhongolethu rolls out with seven routes running between Port Elizabeth, Despatch and Uitenhage.
PILOT ROUTES
Route 300: PE CBD - Triangle
Start point: Lillian Diedericks building, Govan Mbeki Ave
Bus stops used: Mostly median stops in dedicated lanes
Direction of service: Triangle will be operated in both the clockwise and anti-clockwise direction
SERVICE
• Time of operation: 06:00- 20:00( weekdays) 08:00-20:00( saturday& sunday)
• 10 minute intervals in peak hour
Route 301: PE CBD- Coega
Start point: Lillian Diedericks building, Govan Mbeki Ave
End point: security gate
Bus stops used: CBD, Addo Rd, Coega Gate
SERVICE
• Time of operation: 05:15- 09:00, 15:30-18:30( weekdays only)
• Solo low floor
Route 302: PE CBD- NMMU
Start point: Lillian Diedericks building, Govan Mbeki Ave
End point: NMMU South Campus
Bus stops used: existing kerb-side stops
SERVICE
• Time of operation: 06:30- 20:00( weekday) 07:00-20:00( saturday & sunday)
• 10 minute intervals in peak
Route 303: PE CBD-Airport
Start point: Lillian diedricks building, Govan Mbeki Ave
End point:Port Elizabeth international airport
Bus stops used:existing kerb-side stops
SERVICE
• Time of operation: 05:30 - 20:00(weekdays) 08:00-20:00(saturday & sunday)
• 20 minute intervals in peak hours)
Route: 304: PE CBD- Greenacres
Start point: Lillian Diedericks building, Govan Mbeki Ave
Bus stops used: Median stops in IPTS lanes, kerb-side stops on loop around Greenacres
Direction of services: Greenacres loop will be operated anti-clockwise
SERVICE
• Time of operation:06::00-20:00 (weekdays) 08:00-20:00(saturdays & sundays)
• 3 buses( 20 minute intervals weekdays)
Route 305: Uitenhage- despatch
Start point: Uitenhage, CBD rank, Algoa Rd
End point: Despatch train station, Munchen Street
Bus stops used: Existing kerb-side stops
Direction of service; Caledon- Cuyler- Algoa loop will be operated anti-clockwise
SERVICE
• Time of operation: off peak service 08:00-15:00 (monday to sunday)
• 30minute intervals
Route 306: Uitenhage- kwanobuhle
Start point: Uitenhage CBD rank, Algoa Rd
Bus stops used: Kerb-side stops
Direction of service: KwaNobuhle loop will be operated anticlockwise
SERVICE
• Time of operation: off peak service 08:00-15:00(monday to Sunday)
• 30 minute intervals
Cash payment
• A cash payment system will apply to all buses.
• The Municipality will ensure the security and safety of commuters of the bay at all times.
Remember to get on the bus you will have to pay cash.
