That’s a wrap for Tourism Month
NELSON Mandela bay Tourism (NMBT) celebrated tourism month with a host of activities from the remarkable sounds of local jazz to the search for a city icon for Nelson Mandela bay.
Tourism Month launched the “I Love NMB” campaign, a drive to encourage local tourism within the city and also the search for a city icon.
“It was an exciting month for us. We launched new initiatives that are fun and home-grown. The greatest asset of any city is its people and this time we wanted the people of Nelson Mandela Bay to take ownership of this great city and to tell us what they love most about it,” said NMBT chief executive Mandlakazi Skefile.
With many sporting events like the Dolphin Rally, SA Masters Squash and the Urban Run, residents joined in the many activities that took place in the city.
“Tourism Month exists to enable our people to explore their country and enjoy the incredible nature and diversity available all around us,” said Skefile.
Tourism Month was marked worldwide in September with the International Tourism Day celebrated on September 27. This year’s theme was based on linking cultures.
