UNIQUE NEW ADRENALIN ACTIVITY FOR NELSON MANDELA BAY
17 September 2014, was a day that Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism (NMBT) was thrilled to share with local media and visitors as they introduced a brand new adventure product, Adrenalin Addo to the destinations tourism offerings.
Ms Mandlakazi Skefile, CEO of NMBT, says” I encourage all to try something new during tourism month such as the Adrenalin Addo adventures, as I am not the thrill seeking type but today I had an exhilarating experience and this is just the type of experience to have on a Sho’t Left.”
Recently opened in Addo, they offer a unique experience of the longest double zip line in Africa which is 500m long, goes at km per hour and is 60m high above the Sundays River and overlooks a valley of citrus. Due to an automatic breaking system one is able to enjoy the ride without having to worry about controlling a stop. In addition for the daring and adrenalin junkies is a giant swing, the first of its kind in South Africa which has an 18m high freefall at twice the force of gravity.
Mr Ryan Taylor-Smith, owner of Adrenalin Addo, shares, “We are proud to lay claim to the longest double zip line in Africa and the only giant swing of its kind in South Africa. If exhilaration and an adrenalin rush are what you are after, neither activity can fail to disappoint!”
For the more leisurely visitor there is also an option to hire canoes to paddle the Sundays River and enjoy the surrounds. The café overlooking the river, offering light refreshments, and a jungle gym and mini zip line on site to keep all family members entertained. These is where one must try the home made lemonade, fudge and baked bread to calm ones nerves after a day of excitement.
