Private Self-Catering Lodge - Port Elizabeth Thunzi in isiXhosa, the local African language, means “in the shade” describing a typical lazy afternoon in the forest valley. This tranquil sanctuary of coastal forest can be found in the Malaria Free Eastern Cape Province nestled at the base of a 44 hectare (100 Acres) private valley overlooking the pristine and lush De Stades river wetland. GOURMET PICNICS Picnics for overnight guests and day visitors in a safe and secluded part of Maitlands Valley – ideal for romantic proposals, special occasions or family treats. Choose from a scrumptious picnic menu and we’ll do the rest! BOOKINGS ESSENTIAL. Picnics offered Tuesday to Sunday from 12pm. R295.00 per person (excludes alcohol, alcohol and coldrinks to be bought from Thunzi Bush Lodge. Includes food selection) If you'd prefer to bring your own food we charge out our picnic spots at R200 per person and this includes crockery/cutlery/glassware, blankets, cushions and Japanese style low table. Offered every day of the week.

R295 per person includes picnic setup and food R200 per person includes picnic spot and setup only Alcohol and coldrinks can be bought from the lodge reception. R50 corkage fee if own alcohol is brought on to the premises.
