The Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber is one of the largest business association in the Eastern Cape with a membership of approximately 700 businesses employing approximately 60 000 people, representing a broad spectrum of businesses in Nelson Mandela Bay. Fully representative of the demographics of the business sector, it is leading business transformation by example in its staff, board and membership equity spread.

Our History: In 2014, the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber celebrated 150 years of serving business in the Bay, since 1864. The Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber was established as the Port Elizabeth Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 1994 with a view to fostering, encouraging, promoting, protecting, developing and establishing commercial and industrial enterprises within the Port Elizabeth and Uitenhage Metropole (now Nelson Mandela Bay). These functions had previously been provided by the Port Elizabeth Chamber of Commerce (established in 1864) and the Midland Chamber of Industry (established in 1927). The amalgamation of these two Chambers has significantly strengthened the voice of organised business in the city.
