VOLUNTEERING PROGRAMS AVAILABLE IN PORT ELIZABETH, NELSON MANDELA BAY SOUTH AFRICA
International volunteering is when an individual volunteer or a group of individuals donate their time and skills to work for organizations or causes outside of their home country. In most cases, volunteers work in developing countries on international development programs with local partners that address basic needs such as education, health and sanitation.
CHILDCARE IZIZWE PROJECTS
Walmer is one of the few places in South Africa, where during Apartheid years a community of mostly Xhosa people remained to exist in the middle of the white communities. Even though the ruling party tried to evacuate this community it continued to exist.

PENGUIN AND MARINE BIRD RESCUE CENTER
In 2000, the South African Marine Rehabilitation and Education Centre (SAMREC), a non-profit organization, was formed in Port Elizabeth after the disaster of the sinking of the ship the Treasure close to Cape Town in 2000.

LOVE STORY
Love Story is the ongoing inspirational story of a group of local residents in Port Elizabeth that decided to do something about the poverty and hungry people they see on their streets every day. The organization has grown from a little idea birthed out of the hearts of a few, to a multi-faceted organization that runs a great variety of community empowerment projects, education programs and feeding schemes.

MISSIONVALE CARE CENTRE
The Missionvale Care Centre operates in the extremely poor informal shack land township of Missionvale in Port Elizabeth, South Africa - part of the wider Nelson Mandela Metropol. It was founded by Sister Ethel Normoyle, from humble beginnings, under a tree donated by a resident of Missionvale. It has grown into a Centre which provides love and care for the poor and destitute, with particular emphasis on those living with HIV/AIDS.
